Andre Villas-Boas: 'Nothing has changed at Chelsea'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas declares that little has changed at Chelsea ahead of his first return to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has declared that little has changed at Chelsea ahead of his return to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Villas-Boas was sacked as Chelsea boss last February, less than eight months after his appointment.

As he prepares to take Spurs to the Bridge for a crucial game in the race for Champions League places, Villas-Boas has admitted that he is unsure what kind of reception to expect from Chelsea supporters.

He told The Mirror: "Chelsea is going through the same turmoil of managers after I left. So it makes me a little bit calmer to understand how they work.

"I spent three great years on the staff. When I was given more responsibility, I wasn't given time enough, so it means absolutely nothing.

"I have great friends who I don't want to undermine by what I'm saying. Hopefully the Chelsea fans are respectful, it should be fine. But if not, it's fine too. I have great friends there, people who I have a great relationship with and players who gave everything for me so it's going to be good to see them."

Spurs sit fifth in the Premier League ahead of Wednesday's crunch clash, three points off the Blues and two behind Arsenal in the fight for a top-four finish.
