Willian has revealed that he followed his heart in joining Chelsea rather than Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
The Blues' £32m acquisition of the former Shakhtar Donetsk ace was shrouded in controversy after manager Jose Mourinho was reported to have hijacked Spurs' bid for the Brazilian late in the negotiation process.
However, speaking to The Sun, Willian played down reports that he almost signed for the North London outfit by claiming that he only ever had eyes for Chelsea.
"Chelsea were interested in me and when they made an offer this time I didn't think twice. My heart was already at Chelsea," he said.
"I had been following their games even more closely after their first offer.
"I didn't sign a contract for Tottenham or have a medical. During the negotiations there was talk about a medical but it never happened. I made absolutely the right decision to come to Chelsea."
Willian has made just five league appearances for the Blues since his arrival, hitting his first goal for the club in the 3-1 victory over Norwich City.
