John Terry is left looking bewildered after laughter broke out in Westminster Magistrates' Court following the defender's misunderstanding of a question during his racism trial.

Chelsea captain John Terry was the subject of laughter at Westminster Magistrates' Court yesterday after the 31-year-old misunderstood a question from his defence QC.

The England international is currently on trial for allegedly racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand during a West London derby at Loftus Road last October.

During Terry's time in the witness stand, his QC George Carter-Stephenson asked the centre-back to repeat evidence that he had been sent off four times in his career.

Carter-Stephenson asked: "Can you say, please, four times?"

Terry responded: "Please, please, please, please."

The Blues player, who will learn the verdict of the trial at 2pm tomorrow, was left looking confused after chuckles broke out around the court.
