Sunderland striker Fabio Borini is adamant that he was only thinking about helping the club rather than helping Liverpool's title ambitions when his strike defeated Chelsea.
The 23-year-old is on loan at the Stadium of Light from the Reds, and provided a huge boost to their title hopes when he netted a late penalty to hand Jose Mourinho his first loss at home in the Premier League.
"I thought only about Sunderland because this is the shirt that I'm wearing now," Borini told the Sunderland Echo.
"It's very important for the club, for us and for me. I had lots of tweets from Liverpool fans asking for a favour. But it's more for Sunderland than for them."
Sunderland are 20th in the Premier League, but are now just three points adrift of safety.
