Throughout the 2019-20 campaign, Chelsea have been credited with an interest in a number of left-backs as they prepare for the potential exit of Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri.
Having established himself as a key man at Leicester City, one player who has been constantly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Ben Chilwell.
While the England international possesses a long-term contract at the King Power Stadium, there is an inevitability about a future move to one of the Premier League's biggest clubs.
Here, Sports Mole looks at the shirt numbers likely to be available for Chilwell should he make the switch to the West Londoners before the end of the next transfer window.
From Chilwell's perspective, he will likely have his sights set on the number three shirt, although that will only become vacant if Alonso is allowed to move to another club.
While Palmieri's number 33 shirt is a realistic alternative, the 23-year-old could take an interest in the numbers which are already available.
Although the number six could be handed to a central player, the full-back may take a fancy to 14 or 16, numbers which stand to be filled next season.
Frank Lampard has promoted a number of academy graduates during the current campaign, and that may lead to the likes of Reece James and Billy Gilmour being provided with a new shirt.
A number of the squad are also likely to be moved on during the next transfer window, including Willian, Pedro and Michy Batshuayi.
Chilwell is unlikely to be in contention if the number 10 and 11 are made available over the coming months, especially given the arrival of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.
However, Batshuayi's number 23 shirt may be of interest. Failing that, Chilwell could always revert to the number 30 shirt which he was given when breaking into the senior setup at Leicester.
