Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne could join Anderlecht on loan during the January transfer window, as he looks to secure a place in Belgium's World Cup squad next summer.
The club's sporting director Herman van Holsbeeck revealed that there is a possibility that the deal could take place as they look to target Belgian internationals on the fringes on their respective teams.
He told Het Laatste Nieuws: "Kevin could come to Anderlecht in January - there's a big chance.
"It's not an easy deal, but it is something we are investigating. The World Cup being next year makes this possible - he wants regular football so he makes the competition."
De Bruyne was signed by Chelsea from Racing Genk in 2012, but spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen.
