Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has hinted that he is interested in signing a new contract at the club, with his current deal set to expire next year.
The Danish centre-back has been a staple in the starting lineup since Thomas Tuchel took over the Blues last season, and talk of an extension has been consistently taking place since that point.
Christensen, who has started every game so far in the Premier League this season, is negotiating to add additional years to his current contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The European international told Extra Bladet, "I can't say too much...but I think it looks good. I am very happy to be at this club and feel Chelsea are the right place to be in England."
The defender came through Chelsea's academy, joining the first-team squad in 2013 and he has gone on to feature 77 times for the Blues throughout his career, including an appearance in the Champions League final against Manchester City.
Christensen's contract runs out at the end of this season and the club are now working to extend that deal in order to keep him at Chelsea for the foreseeable future. body check tags ::
