Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger reportedly turned down a contract offer worth £230,000 per week to stay on at Stamford Bridge.
The 29-year-old's existing contract with the European champions runs out at the end of the season, and he has supposedly decided to head elsewhere in the summer.
Rudiger is unable to pen a new deal at Chelsea while sanctions remain in place on current owner Roman Abramovich, but the two parties were locked in negotiations before the Russian oligarch's assets were frozen.
According to The Mirror, Rudiger was offered a staggering £230k per week to remain in West London, but the Germany international snubbed the offer from Thomas Tuchel's side.
The report adds that Chelsea were willing to fork out a mammoth signing-on fee and agent costs to keep Rudiger on the books, but the centre-back is now being tipped to head to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Rudiger has scored five goals and provided four assists in 47 matches for Chelsea this season - remaining a key player for Tuchel despite his contract situation with 28 Premier League starts.
The former Roma man has won the Champions League, FA Cup, Europa League and Club World Cup with the Blues but is likely to miss Sunday's clash with West Ham United due to a groin issue. body check tags ::
