Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico in one of the upcoming transfer windows.

The 29-year-old – who has previously been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City – will see his contract expire in June 2023, and is believed to be considering his options.

Tagliafico had been a first-team regular for the Dutch giants; however, he has fallen down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag this campaign, featuring in only nine matches across all competitions.

According to Fichajes, Atletico Madrid are aware of the Argentina international's situation at Ajax and will consider making an offer for him in either January of next summer.

The report adds that Diego Simeone has told the club's hierarchy that he would like to recruit a new left-back and Tagliafico is believed to be one of his primary targets.

Tagliafico is valued at around €18m (£15.32m) by Ajax, who are prepared to sell the defender if their valuation is met. body check tags ::
