Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has denied reports that he is keen on bringing Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata to White Hart Lane.
There had been suggestions that the Portuguese coach wanted to link up with Mata after signing him when he was the manager of Chelsea in 2011.
However, Villas-Boas has rejected suggestions that he could re-sign the Spain international, and expects the 25-year-old to "jump back" into the Blues team after being left out of the starting XI numerous times by Jose Mourinho.
"It's not my decision to not pick or pick Mata," Villas-Boas said in a press conference. "He was always involved in my starting XI.
"I enjoyed a great personal and professional relationship with Mata. The time that he's not been given now with the talent that he is, he'll probably overcome it and jump back into the team."
Spurs will take on Chelsea on home turf this Saturday.
