Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that Chelsea will not be making offers for Gary Cahill or Luka Modric during the January transfer window.
Bolton Wanderers defender Cahill, who will be out of contract in the summer, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the last few weeks.
However, Villas-Boas has insisted that he is not looking to sign the 25-year-old.
"He's a fantastic player because he plays for the English national team, a central defender of high qualities," he told Sky Sports News.
"He had a fantastic year last season for club and country. But he is not a player that we are considering."
Another player the boss has denied interest in is Spurs midfielder Modric, who was the subject of numerous offers from the Blues during the summer.
"We have [Michael] Essien returning and I think we have left that one for sure," he added.
Chelsea face Manchester City in the Premier League tomorrow evening.
