Barcelona are reportedly closing in on an agreement with Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta.
The Spaniard has again been a vital player for the Blues during the 2021-22 campaign, making 30 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and three assists in the process.
Azpilicueta's contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of June, though, and he has been strongly linked with Barcelona in recent months.
According to Sport, the 32-year-old has an agreement in principle to join the Catalan giants, who are now confident of securing his signature ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
The report claims that Chelsea have the option to extend Azpilicueta's contract, but the right-back can reject the opportunity to remain at the club, placing him in control of his future.
The Spain international has made 459 appearances for the Blues since arriving from Marseille in 2012 and captained the Premier League club to success in the Club World Cup on Saturday.
