Barcelona end interest in Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso?

:Headline: Barcelona end interest in Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso?:
Barcelona are allegedly unlikely to make a formal approach for Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso during the January transfer window.

Barcelona are reportedly unlikely to pursue a deal for Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso before the end of January.

Alonso has been frozen out by Blues manager Frank Lampard since September, leaving the Spaniard available for transfer at the midway point of the campaign.

According to Sempremilan, the left-back has allegedly emerged as a potential option for Barcelona, who are keen to offload Junior Firpo in the coming days.

However, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano says that AC Milan, the frontrunners for Firpo, have ended their interest in the player.

That has seemingly left Chelsea needing to find another interested club, although they may have to pay a significant portion of Alonso's wage to attract a bid for the 30-year-old.
