Barcelona are reportedly set to enter the race for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, who has been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite having a bid in the region of £77m rejected in the summer, Chelsea are still interested in signing the Leipzig centre-back.
Their London rivals Tottenham are also considering move, but the two Premier League clubs are now set to face competition from Barcelona.
According to TEAMtalk, the Catalan giants have identified Gvardiol as a replacement for Gerard Pique, who recently retired from professional football.
The report claims that Barcelona will monitor Gvardiol's progress at the World Cup, where he will represent 2018 runners-up Croatia.
While Barcelona's financial issues could play a part in a potential transfer, the La Liga clubs are keen to begin negotiations next year, although there is uncertainty whether they are targeting a move for the January or summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old is currently under contract with Leipzig until 2027, and in his time with the club, he has made 65 appearances, chipping in with three goals and four assists.
