Barcelona would reportedly 'love the idea' of re-signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Chelsea.
The 33-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona last summer, penning a two-year contract with the London club, as he secured a return to the Premier League.
However, the forward has found it difficult to make his mark for the Blues, only scoring three goals and providing one assist in 15 appearances in all competitions.
Aubameyang was substituted after being brought on in the 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the league last week, and he was then not in the squad for Sunday's FA Cup contest with the Citizens.
A back problem was said to be the reason for his absence last weekend, but there has been speculation surrounding his future of late.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter has confirmed that Aubameyang will be back in the squad for Thursday's Premier League clash with Fulham.
However, the forward could struggle for starts in the second half of the season, with Joao Felix's arrival on loan from Atletico Madrid being confirmed on Wednesday.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Barcelona 'would love' to re-sign the former Gabon international, but it would have to be a free transfer on reduced terms.
Romano also said that any return for Aubameyang would depend on Memphis Depay's future, with Atletico Madrid said to be keen to sign the latter this month.
"Been told Barca would love the idea to bring Auba back... but only if it's 100% free transfer, different salary terms and only if Memphis Depay leaves (Atleti want him)," wrote Romano on Twitter.
Aubameyang arrived at Barcelona in February 2022 after a breakdown in his relationship with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta led to him leaving the Emirates Stadium.
The forward impressed for the Catalan outfit in the second half of last season, scoring 13 goals and registering one assist in 23 appearances in all competitions.
Aubameyang only has one goal in nine Premier League appearances this term, but he did find the back of the net twice in the group stage of the Champions League, scoring home and away against AC Milan in October. body check tags ::
