Chelsea have announced that midfielder Kasey Palmer has signed a season-long loan deal with Blackburn Rovers.
Palmer is yet to make a first-team outing for the Blues, but the young Englishman has spent the last two years on loan at Huddersfield Town and Derby County.
The 21-year-old had been hoping to make an impression under new head coach Maurizio Sarri, but Chelsea have instead opted to allow Palmer to represent Blackburn until next summer.
Palmer has made a combined total of 18 starts and 21 substitute appearances for Huddersfield and Derby in the Championship, while four matches were played for the former in the Premier League during the first half of last season.
Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray could give Palmer his debut when Rovers face Ipswich Town in their Championship opener on Saturday.
