Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly joined the race to sign Chelsea defender Tariq Lamptey before the end of January.
Over the past 24 hours, it has been suggested that Lille have reached a pre-contract agreement with the right-back, who has less than six months left on his deal at Stamford Bridge.
However, the two clubs remain locked in negotiations regarding a transfer being pushed through this month, leaving an opportunity for other teams to express an interest.
According to the Daily Mail, Brighton have told Chelsea that they are willing to pay £6m to sign the 19-year-old.
The Seagulls were said to be keen on Tottenham Hotspur's Kyle Walker-Peters before he completed a temporary switch to Southampton.
Despite being handed three appearances by Frank Lampard since the end of 2019, it appears that Lamptey has set his sights on gaining first-team football elsewhere.
