Chelsea are reportedly confident of signing Serbian youth international Marko Grukic in January.
The 19-year-old is a product of Red Star Belgrade's academy and agreed a new three-year contract after Hamburg bid around £1.2m for his services in the summer.
The Under-21 international has impressed at the start of this season and according to The Guardian, clubs in England and France have sent scouts in recent weeks to keep an eye on the Serbian's progress.
It is believed that Chelsea are ready to make a bid to beat their rivals, with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain also interested in signing the 6'3" midfielder.
It has been suggested that the Premier League champions would be willing to send Grujic, who has been compared to fellow Serbian Nemanja Matic, back on loan to Red Star for the rest of the season.
