Chelsea have reportedly sent scouts to assess the development of Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Max Kilman.
As it stands, the contracts of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger are due to expire in the summer, leaving Chelsea to identify potential alternatives.
If reports are to be believed, the European and world champions are likely to push through a deal for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde during the next transfer window.
According to talkSPORT, Chelsea also hold an interest in signing Kilman, who has been an ever-present in the Wolves defence this campaign.
The 24-year-old has played a key role in Wolves holding the second-best defensive record in the Premier League, putting him in line for a first-ever England call-up.
However, Kilman, who was a boyhood Chelsea supporter, has a contract at Molineux until 2026, and Wolves will realistically not consider cashing in on the player unless they receive an offer upwards of £40m.
Chelsea are said to have had representatives present for Wolves' 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Sunday evening. body check tags ::
