Premier League champions Chelsea are prepared to pay a club-record fee to get a deal for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro over the line, according to a report.
The Blues are said to be waiting on the 26-year-old to make a decision after being handed a new contract in Turin worth £93,000 a week.
It is claimed by The Telegraph that fresh talks took place on Monday with the hope of tempting Sandro to join, presenting him with better terms than Juventus are prepared to offer.
Chelsea may also have to fend off competition from Paris Saint-Germain, however, meaning that a fee of around £60m will be required to satisfy the Italian giants - £10m more than they paid to sign Fernando Torres from Liverpool six years ago.
That figure will almost certainly be eclipsed once again later this summer if Antonio Conte gets his way, meanwhile, as their former striker Romelu Lukaku is valued at £100m by Everton.
