Chelsea are reportedly open to cashing in on goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga during the summer transfer window.
Despite having lost his place to Edouard Mendy, the Spaniard has impressed when called upon since the arrival of head coach Thomas Tuchel 13 months ago.
The 27-year-old has deputised for Mendy over the past month, conceding just three times in seven matches and starring against Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup semi-finals.
However, according to The Guardian, the Blues are likely to consider bids for Arrizabalaga in the summer, even though he will still have three years left on his contract.
The report claims that Chelsea expect Arrizabalaga to be craving a new challenge if he remains behind Africa Cup of Nations winner Mendy in the pecking order.
Chelsea are also aware that Arrizabalaga will now be regarded as a potential asset by other clubs, increasing their chances of recouping some of the £71.6m that they shelled out in 2018, and the European champions are anticipating offers from Spanish teams.
The former Athletic Bilbao man has made 12 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season, taking his tally to 122 since his arrival. body check tags ::
