Chelsea have reportedly been handed a boost in their efforts to sign Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz.
While the Blues have long been regarded as the favourites for the Germany international, it has previously been claimed that the 21-year-old may only be prepared to consider a move to a club who have qualified for the Champions League.
With Chelsea yet to achieve a spot in European football's premier competition, the uncertainly could potentially lead to Havertz considering other options.
However, according to BBC Sport, Champions League football will not be a deciding factor when the attacker chooses his next destination.
Nevertheless, any interested club could have to pay £75m for his services, something which may only be possible with participation in that competition.
Ahead of next season, Havertz has already witnessed Chelsea bring in Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner from Ajax and RB Leipzig respectively.
