Chelsea have reportedly been handed a further boost in the race to sign Barcelona youngster Xavier Mbuyamba.
Earlier this month, the agent of the 18-year-old suggested that the Blues had, so far, offered the most attractive proposal for the prospect ahead of the next transfer window.
Given the player's potential, Barcelona have been keen to hand the teenager fresh terms at Camp Nou, with the possible fire sale of players seemingly opening up a chance to feature in the first team.
However, according to Sport, negotiations between the relevant parties have been shelved, leaving Chelsea in a position to secure Mbuyamba's signature.
The report also claims that Juventus are no longer considered a potential destination due to being unable to conduct a straight swap deal with Kaly Sene.
Earlier this campaign, the Dutchman made three appearances in the UEFA Youth League.
