Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offload four homegrown players this summer, however the quartet in question do not want to be rushed out of the Stamford Bridge door.
Since the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino in the summer to take up the managerial position in West London, there has been little improvement on the pitch translating to league position.
The Blues are currently occupying ninth place in the Premier League standings, just two points above 11th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers as the campaign reaches its final moments.
There is still a slight chance that Chelsea can make a late run for a European berth, with David Moyes's West Ham United only four points ahead in seventh.
The West Londoners are on course to better their league finish from a highly-disappointing 2022-23 season in which they ended up in 12th, 27 points behind fourth-placed Newcastle United.
Chelsea open to selling Gallagher and Chalobah this summer?
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are looking to sell a quartet of homegrown players this summer, including Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah.
The report claims that the Blues need to offload players before June 30, so that the profits from such deals can be included in the financial accounts for the 2023-24 term.
This would help Chelsea pass the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules which have seen the likes of Everton and Nottingham Forest deducted points this season.
Despite often operating as captain for the Stamford Bridge club this campaign, Gallagher is one of the players who the Blues could seek to sell this summer.
It is understood that Tottenham Hotspur have an interest in securing the services of the England international, who would only consider a switch to a top-level Premier League outfit.
Chelsea stars 'will not be forced out of club'
With the summer transfer window fast approaching, it is believed that the likes of Gallagher and Chalobah are insisting that they will not be forced out of the club.
It is said that the English duo will only wish to depart the West Londoners if they find a suitable new club that matches the ambitions of their respective careers.
It is also understood that Chelsea are aiming to offload both Armando Broja and Ian Maatsen, with the pair both currently on temporary spells away from Stamford Bridge.
Striker Broja is plying his trade for Marco Silva's Fulham at Craven Cottage, where he has made five appearances across all competitions since joining in January.
