According to ESPN, a scout from Chelsea was present to watch Guimaraes during his club's Copa Libertadores fixture with Boca Juniors on Wednesday night.
The 21-year-old provided an assist during the 3-0 victory over the South American giants as he continued to impress during the competition.
The report adds that Shakhtar Donetsk are also taking an interest in the prospect ahead of a possible approach in the coming months.
