Chelsea have reportedly identified RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner as a leading transfer target.
The Blues have had their transfer suspension lifted, meaning that they will be free to conduct business during the winter window having been banned over the summer.
Frank Lampard's side are allegedly eyeing a club-record move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho, who has also been strongly linked with Manchester United and Liverpool.
However, according to the Daily Mail, the capital giants are also keen to sign a new centre-forward, with Werner regarded as the club's number one target in that area of the field.
The report claims that Chelsea want a new striker to provide competition for Tammy Abraham with Oliver Giroud expected to move on at the start of 2020.
Werner, who only signed a new long-term deal with Leipzig in August, has scored 19 times in 21 appearances at club level during the 2019-20 campaign.
