Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos confirms that discussions are underway regarding a new deal at the Parc des Princes amid links with a move to Chelsea.

Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Marquinhos has confirmed that he is in discussions over a new contract at the Parc des Princes.

The Brazil international dons the captain's armband under Mauricio Pochettino and has registered three goals and one assist in 30 games for Les Parisiens in all tournaments this season.

Marquinhos's existing deal is not due to expire until the summer of 2024, but the 27-year-old has been linked with a switch to Chelsea in order to reunite with Thomas Tuchel.

Marquinhos has seemingly laid those rumours to rest by affirming that he only sees himself in the French capital, telling RMC Sport: "My future is PSG.

"Leonardo knows my desire, as do the club – they know what I want. I have it calmly in my head that my place is here. The club has shown the faith and respect it has for me. Everything is going in the right direction."

Marquinhos has won six Ligue 1 titles and six Coupe de France crowns during his time at the Parc des Princes, racking up 34 goals and nine assists in 351 appearances since joining from Roma in 2013. body check tags ::
