Chelsea have reportedly identified West Bromwich Albion teenager Leonardo Cardoso as a potential transfer target.

The Blues youth system is currently earning rave reviews with several academy graduates making an impact in Thomas Tuchel's first-team squad.

However, it appears that the Premier League leaders are in the process of looking towards the future by targeting players for their Under-18s ranks.

Days after Chelsea were linked with Charlton Athletic prospect James Beadle, Football Insider claims that a Baggies youngster is also on their radar.

Cardoso, a current member of the England Under-16s squad, is said to have impressed scouts with his performances for club and country.

With the midfielder not due to turn 17 until May, Chelsea are allegedly keen to sign the player before he signs a professional contract at The Hawthorns.
