Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers is reportedly prepared to leave the club amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester City.

Rogers has established himself as a key part of the Aston Villa side since he joined the club from Middlesbrough in February 2024.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form in his first full season with the club, scoring 14 goals and providing 13 assists in 51 competitive appearances.

As a result of his impressive performances, the attacker has forced his way into the England setup, having earned four caps since he made his international debut in November.

Rogers' current focus will be on helping Aston Villa in their bid to secure Champions League qualification for next season.

Rogers open to Villa exit

However, there appears to be some doubt as to whether he will still be at Villa Park when the 2025-26 campaign gets underway in August.

Manchester City have emerged as a potential contender to sign their former player as a replacement for Kevin de Bruyne, who will leave the Citizens when his contract expires at the end of June.

Chelsea are also said to be in the race for Rogers's signature, having identified the England international as a potential transfer target for the summer transfer window.

According to TEAMtalk, Rogers is not ruling out the prospect of a summer exit despite being happy with his situation at Villa Park.

The report claims that the versatile attacker will listen to offers and consider his Villa future if the 'right opportunity' presents itself.

How much is Rogers's asking price?

Villa will be reluctant to sell one of their most prized assets, although they will be mindful that a big sale would help alleviate the pressure of meeting the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability rules.

They are said to value Rogers in the region of £90m, representing a significant mark-up on the £15m they paid to sign him from Middlesbrough.

The Midlands club are in a strong negotiating position, with the player under contract until summer 2030 after signing a new long-term deal in November.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has informed the hierarchy of his desire to keep the club's best players beyond the end of the summer.

Emery's stance would surely make it difficult for Villa to consider a sale unless they were presented with an enticing offer. body check tags ::
