Chelsea reportedly offered Ruben Loftus-Cheek to West Ham United on loan before the end of the summer window to make room for Saul Niguez's arrival at Stamford Bridge.

Loftus-Cheek struggled for action with the Blues in the early stages of the campaign but has now been involved in five of his side's last six matches in all competitions.

The 25-year-old was handed a start against Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday, meanwhile, and provided an assist in his side's 3-1 success.

According to The Sun, Thomas Tuchel's side offered Loftus-Cheek to West Ham on deadline day in August, but the Hammers turned down the chance to sign him.

The England international spent last season on loan at Fulham in the Premier League, making 32 appearances in all competitions before returning to Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder's contract in the English capital is due to run until the summer of 2024. body check tags ::
