Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign striker Andre Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen.
The 22-year-old has been frequently linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, and it now appears that he taken a step closer to sealing a transfer to England.
A Chelsea statement read: "Chelsea Football Club and Bayer 04 Leverkusen have reached an agreement for the transfer of Andre Schurrle, subject to the completion of legal documentation and related matters, including personal terms and passing a medical."
There had previously been question marks over a potential deal after new Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho stated that midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, who was a target for Leverkusen, would be remaining at the Premier League club.
