Chelsea transfer news: Joao Felix on brink of exit after 'verbal agreement reached'

Chelsea reportedly reach an agreement with a Champions League-participating club over a loan exit for Joao Felix.

Chelsea have reportedly given the green light for Joao Felix to leave Stamford Bridge on deadline day.

The Portugal international only returned to the Blues during the summer in a deal that was said to be worth up to £46.3m.

However, despite scoring seven goals in all competitions, Felix has been provided with just three starts in the Premier League.

As a result, that has led to club officials being open-minded to an exit for the versatile attacker, either on a permanent or temporary transfer.

Aston Villa chief Monchi acknowledged last week that the West Midlands outfit were eager to sign the 25-year-old, a player admired by head coach Unai Emery.

Villa lose out to Milan

Nevertheless, as per David Ornstein of The Athletic, a verbal agreement has been reached with AC Milan ahead of what will be a straight loan deal.

The report claims that the Italian giants - now with Sergio Conceicao in charge - are prepared to pay a loan fee of €5.5m (£4.6m).

Furthermore, it is suggested that Milan will cover Felix's wages in full, handing a further boost to Chelsea's position with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Chelsea are said to be satisfied with allowing Felix to experience more first-team football, despite the fact that Enzo Maresca's side are still competing on three fronts.

Maresca has already seen his squad reduced by the loan exit of Renato Veiga to Juventus, while a potential departure for Axel Disasi may materialise before close of business on Monday.

All change at San Siro

Conceicao has seemingly being given free reign to try to instigate a change of fortunes at San Siro with Milan down in eighth position in the Serie A table.

Defender Kyle Walker and forward Santiago Gimenez have already been signed from Manchester City and Feyenoord respectively.

Davide Calabria and Alvaro Morata have joined Bologna and Galatasaray respectively, while Noah Okafor is on the brink of signing for Napoli on loan. body check tags ::
