Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell teenager Lewis Hall to Newcastle United in a £35m deal.

At the start of this week, the Blues completed the British-transfer-record signing of Moises Caicedo, shelling out £115m to add the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder to their ranks.

Southampton's Romeo Lavia is in line to become the latest acquisition with Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital seemingly prepared to pay somewhere in the region of £55m and £60m for the Belgium international.

While there have been conflicting reports regarding the status of Chelsea's FFP situation, it is realistic to assume that sales will need to be made before the end of the summer transfer window.

Pending the completion of a medical, Hakim Ziyech could join Galatasaray, while Callum Hudson-Odoi and Romelu Lukaku will also exit Chelsea if the club's owners are able to facilitate a sale.

However, Mauricio Pochettino is also keen to reduce the numbers in his first-team squad, even if it means parting ways with prospects who made a positive impression on their pre-season tour of the USA.

Hall falls into that category, the 18-year-old most notably starring against Fulham, and Chelsea initially intended to allow the youngster to sign for Crystal Palace on a season-long loan having agreed a new six-year contract.

Instead, David Ornstein of The Athletic claims that the England Under-21 international will likely be making the switch to Newcastle.

With Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella and Ian Maatsen ahead of him in the pecking order, Hall is said to be pushing for a permanent transfer to St James' Park.

Although Newcastle have seen previous offers rejected by Chelsea, the Magpies have allegedly learned that it will take £35m to sign Hall this summer.

The report suggests that the North East outfit intend to negotiate a deal with their Chelsea counterparts, Hall eager to join a club that he supported during his childhood.

A total of 11 starts and one substitute outing have been made for Chelsea, including eight in the Premier League, and finalising a deal would likely see Newcastle conclude their business for the summer.

Eddie Howe has indicated on more than one occasion that Newcastle would 'like to sign one more player', and Hall would provide options at left-back, left-midfield and in the centre of the pitch. body check tags ::
