Chelsea are reportedly still hopeful of bringing Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani to the club before the January transfer window closes for business.
The Blues have been linked with a number of strikers since the start of the month, although the London club are heading into transfer deadline day without another option in the final third of the field.
Cavani will see his contract at PSG expire at the end of the 2019-20 campaign, and it is thought that the Uruguay international could leave the French champions before the deadline.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea 'retain hope' of signing PSG's all-time leading goalscorer after Atletico Madrid ended their interest on Thursday.
The 32-year-old has scored five times in 14 appearances for Thomas Tuchel's side this season, while he has 198 goals in total for the club since arriving from Napoli in July 2013.
Any deal for Cavani on deadline day could allegedly open the door for Olivier Giroud to leave Stamford Bridge, with Tottenham Hotspur believed to be in the hunt for the Frenchman.
