Chelsea have reportedly sent scouts to watch Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali ahead of a possible January move for the Italian.
Tonali's performances for the Serie B outfit have led to reports linking him to a number of top-flight clubs in Italy, with Inter Milan understood to be amongst the interested parties.
However, Calciomercato reports that Chelsea are also tracking the 18-year-old's progress and are considering a January bid for the youngster.
Brescia are thought to value Tonali at around £22m - a fee Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is happy for the club to spend as he looks to bolster his options ahead of the second half of the season.
Chelsea began the Premier League season with a 12-match unbeaten run, but their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday leaves them fourth in the table and seven points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
