Chelsea are reportedly preparing an £85m offer for Bayer Leverkusen attacker Leon Bailey.
The Jamaica international has long been linked with a move away from his German club and is believed to be a long-term target for the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.
However, according to The Express, Chelsea have now joined the race for the attacker and are lining up an £85m bid in the hope of beating their Premier League rivals to his signature.
The 22-year-old, who still has more than three years left to run on his contract at Leverkusen, has scored seven times in 22 appearances at club level during the 2019-20 campaign.
Bayern Munich are allegedly also interested in Bailey, but Leverkusen would rather sell the former Genk youngster to a Premier League club than a Bundesliga rival.
Chelsea are thought to have scouted Bailey against Rangers on Thursday night, where the Jamaican found the back of the net in his team's 3-1 win.
