Chelsea are reportedly preparing to rival Real Madrid and Manchester City for the signature of RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a stellar start to the new season with the Bundesliga side, registering nine goals and three assists in 10 games across all competitions.

Nkunku's form has allegedly led to interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs, with Real Madrid and Man City both linked with a swoop in recent weeks.

However, Foot Mercato claims that Chelsea are also prepared to battle for his signature next summer, with Nkunku's agent Pini Zahavi believing that it will be the right time for his client to take a new step in his career.

Nkunku rose through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain and worked under now-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, who is said to be keen to reunite with his former player at Stamford Bridge.

The former France Under-21 international boasts 21 goals and 30 assists in 94 appearances for Leipzig, and his deal with Jesse Marsch's side does not expire until 2024.
