Chelsea could reportedly move for Lyon forward Moussa Dembele during the January transfer window.
The Blues are expected to be in the market for a new striker at the start of 2020 having seen their transfer suspension, which was due to run until this summer, reduced on appeal.
RB Leipzig's Timo Werner has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but according to Sky Sports News, Dembele is also a target for the London giants.
The report claims that both Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi are likely to leave the club in January, meaning that Frank Lampard's side will need to sign competition for Tammy Abraham in attack.
The new Chelsea boss allegedly sees similarities between Dembele and Didier Drogba, who scored 164 goals in 381 appearances for the Premier League giants in all competitions.
The 23-year-old has scored 10 times in 25 outings for Lyon during the current season, while he has managed 30 goals in total for the Ligue 1 side since arriving from Celtic.
