Manchester City have confirmed that former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has joined the Premier League champions on a six-month loan deal.
The 36-year-old, who was released by the west London club at the end of last season, will be at the Etihad Stadium until January before moving to New York City ahead of the new MLS season.
Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini confirmed the loan deal after his team lost a penalty shootout against Olympiacos on their tour of the US.
Another New York signing, David Villa, will play for Melbourne City before his move to the Big Apple.
New York City is jointly owned by Manchester City and the New York Yankees.
