Conor Gallagher is reportedly expected to remain at Chelsea despite being linked with a January departure.
The 22-year-old has been the subject of a £45m bid from Everton, who are looking to add to their squad before today's 11pm deadline.
While Chelsea were believed to be willing to accept the offer, Gallagher was reluctant to agree to the move.
Although Gallagher has played the duration of Chelsea's last two Premier League games, he has only started 11 of his 25 competitive appearances this season.
Despite struggling to establish himself in the starting lineup, he is keen to remain at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place in the side.
According to journalist David Ornstein, Gallagher will not leave the club in the January transfer window.
The report states that permanent offers for Gallagher have fallen below Chelsea's valuation, and they are not prepared to sanction another loan departure.
The 22-year-old has already had four loan spells, spending time at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace.
While Everton appeared to be leading the race for the midfielder, there was also interest from a number of other Premier League clubs, including Aston Villa, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Crystal Palace.
Barring any late developments, Gallagher will remain with the Blues, and he could be involved in Friday's Premier League meeting with Fulham.
