Crystal Palace have reportedly joined Burnley and West Ham United in the race to sign Gary Cahill on a free transfer this summer.
The 33-year-old became a free agent in June after deciding to leave Chelsea following eight seasons at the club, during which he made 290 appearances in all competitions.
Burnley's interest in signing Cahill dates back to May, with the Turf Moor club concerned that they will lose defenders James Tarkowski and Ben Gibson.
According to the Daily Mail, Palace have entered the race for Cahill as manager Roy Hodgson seeks to add some experience to his backline before the window shuts.
The English defender is tempted by the prospect of reuniting with Hodgson, having worked with him at international level, and wants to remain in London.
Palace are set for a busy end to the transfer window amid reports that the South London club have launched pursuits for Real Betis midfielder Victor Camarasa, Everton midfielder James McCarthy, Olympiacos right back Omar Elabdellaoui and Brentford winger Ollie Watkins.
