French side Dijon are hopeful of adding Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta to their squad during the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old is currently on loan with Bolton Wanderers but is expected to return to Stamford Bridge at the beginning of 2012.
Chelsea are believed to be willing to allow the attacker to leave the club on loan again, something that appeals to Dijon coach Patrice Carteron.
"We have a verbal agreement with the player but nothing has been officially signed," Carteron told Le Bien Public.
"My idea is not to sign players for the sake of it. We want to strengthen the squad, not just replace players.
"Gael Kakuta is a rough diamond, someone who can bring us something extra."
Dijon are currently 16th in Ligue 1.
