Edouard Mendy has reportedly said goodbye to his Rennes teammates as he closes in on a move to Chelsea.
The 28-year-old's agent confirmed on Thursday that Rennes and Chelsea had reached an agreement for the stopper, who looks set to take Kepa Arrizabalaga's place between the sticks at Stamford Bridge.
Mendy will allegedly pen a five-year deal with Frank Lampard's side upon his arrival, although the Blues are yet to officially confirm the deal.
According to L'Equipe, the goalkeeper said goodbye to his Rennes teammates on Friday and is expected to miss Saturday's clash with Monaco in order to finalise a move to England.
Mendy played his French club's first Ligue 1 game of the season against Lille on August 22 but has missed their last two against Montpellier and Nimes.
Chelsea will be looking to make it back-to-back wins at the start of the 2020-21 Premier League season when they host Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
