Nice technical director Gilles Grimandi has confirmed that the Ligue 1 side are interested in signing Olivier Giroud from Chelsea.
Giroud recently suggested that he will consider moving away from Stamford Bridge this summer after growing frustrated with his lack of first-team action.
The World Cup-winning striker has reached double figures for goals in the Europa League this season, but he has been restricted to just seven Premier League starts in 2018-19.
A number of clubs have been tipped to make a move for Giroud, who has a year to run on his contract, and Nice are among those in the running to sign him.
"If Olivier Giroud decides to come that is because he likes the project at Nice," Grimandi told Canal Football. "If Olivier is not happy at Chelsea, if he wants to play, we will take all the elements into account.
"I have spoken with manager Patrick [Vieira] about Olivier Giroud, but we have not spoken with Olivier Giroud.
"I know Olivier very well because I was involved in his transfer from Montpellier to Arsenal. Olivier will choose his destination. For the moment I have not spoken to him. If Olivier Giroud decides to come to Nice it is because he knows the means that we have."
Giroud has made 61 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions since joining from Premier League rivals Arsenal in January 2018.
