Harry Kane could reportedly now stay at Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy ignoring the deadline set by Bayern Munich to come to an agreement over the England captain.

The centre-forward's contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is due to expire next June, and he has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern over the last few weeks.

The Munich giants are thought to have set a deadline of midnight on Friday to agree a deal for Kane, which Tottenham are believed to have ignored.

According to the Daily Mail, the 30-year-old could now remain at Tottenham this summer, potentially leading to him leaving the club on a free transfer next June.

The report claims that Bayern submitted their final offer of £86m on Friday, but Spurs have made it clear from the beginning that bids of under £100m would not even be considered.

Levy has now allegedly made the trip to the United States on a two-week family holiday, further fuelling claims that Kane will stay at Spurs, who will start their Premier League season next weekend.

Bayern have reportedly made it clear from the beginning that they do not want the saga to drag on until the latter stages of the transfer window, with the club desperate to bring in a new centre-forward.

As a result, Thomas Tuchel's side are considering switching their attention to Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is also being heavily linked with a switch to Chelsea.

At this moment, there is not believed to be any serious chance of Bayern coming up to £100m for Kane, who has been involved in Tottenham's pre-season amid the speculation surrounding his future.

Spurs are still thought to be hopeful of convincing Kane to sign a new deal, but it seems likely that he will depart on a free transfer next summer if he stays at the club beyond the end of the current window.

Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe met with Levy earlier this week to discuss a move for the Three Lions skipper to Allianz Arena.

Kane scored 30 Premier League goals last season, but Spurs finished down in eighth position in the table and will therefore not play European football during the 2023-24 campaign.

As it stands, the club's all-time leading goalscorer will be available for their season opener against Brentford on August 13.

Tottenham have another two matches before their trip to the Bees, though, facing Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday ahead of a clash with Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy on Tuesday. body check tags ::
