Chelsea forward Kai Havertz has insisted that he is happy at Chelsea despite being linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

The 23-year-old was reportedly a transfer target for Bayern in 2020, but he opted to complete a transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to Chelsea instead.

Since joining the Blues, Havertz has scored 32 goals and provided 15 assists in 130 appearances in all competitions.

Havertz's most important strike in a Chelsea shirt arrived in the 2021 Champions League final when he scored the winning goal against fellow Premier League side Manchester City.

Despite facing criticism for his finishing at times, Havertz has remained a key part of Chelsea's side this season, registering nine goals and one assist in 38 games.

In a recent interview with Bild, Havertz appeared to open the door to a potential move to Bayern Munich, who recently appointed former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel

Havertz said: "Bayern are generally a huge club that it's hard to say no to as a German player, but my personal goal has always been to play abroad at some point. In England or Spain.

"I had a very good relationship with him and am very grateful for everything. You never know what will happen in football. Everything can happen very quickly. Never say never."

However, he has since played down talk of an imminent departure from Stamford Bridge, with his contract set to run until June 2025.

"I still have a two-year contract, I don't have to move every two to three years," Havertz told Bild's Podcast Phrasenmaher.

"My girlfriend and I feel very comfortable in London. I love the club, the people and the fans. At the moment we're still in the Champions League. My goal is to reach the final again.

"Football is very fast paced, you never know what will happen. We'll see what happens in the summer. I'm not thinking about that."

Following Graham Potter's sacking, Bruno Saltor took charge of Tuesday's Premier League meeting with Liverpool, where Havertz thought he had opened the scoring in the 50th minute.

Replays showed that the ball had struck Havertz's hand, ensuring that the goal was swiftly chalked off, and with neither side able to find a winner, the contest ended in a goalless draw.

The German is expected to be involved in Saturday's Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the Blues could be under new management, with Frank Lampard closing in on a return to the Chelsea dugout on a short-term deal. body check tags ::
