Chelsea are reportedly considering naming Eden Hazard as the club's captain next season.
The future of Hazard remains up in the air, with less than two years remaining on his contract and Real Madrid known to hold a long-standing interest in the Belgium international.
However, the managerial uncertainty at the Bernabeu could play into Chelsea's favour when it comes to negotiating fresh terms with the playmaker, with it unclear who will become the long-term replacement for Julen Lopetegui.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea may look to tempt Hazard into staying at Stamford Bridge with the incentive of becoming the new skipper, a role which is currently held by Gary Cahill.
The Englishman could leave the Blues at the end of the campaign, and while Cesar Azpilicueta currently deputises when the centre-back is not selected, the club captain role would be available.
Hazard is allegedly waiting for things to become clearer at the European champions before making a decision.
