New Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly been told that he can sign former favourite Wesley Sneijder this summer, for a fee of £12.75m.
Sneijder worked with Mourinho during his successful tenure at Inter Milan, winning a domestic double and the Champions League in a historic season at the San Siro.
The Netherlands international has been with Turkish giants Galatasaray since January, but has struggled to settle under coach Fatih Terim.
Galatasaray president Unal Aysal is keen to offload the playmaker and has quoted potential suitors Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur a price of just over £12m, according to The Mirror.
"I have been following the rumours about Sneijder, but we have not received an offer for him," the newspaper quotes Aysal as saying.
"If an offer in the region of £12.75m comes in, we might decide to sell him though."
The 29-year-old has played 92 times for Holland but recently lost the captaincy at international level, with boss Louis van Gaal handing the armband to Robin van Persie.
