Leeds United have completed the signing of Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea.
The 22-year-old joins the recently-relegated club for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £7m, and has put pen to paper on a four-year deal which will keep him at Elland Road until 2027.
Ampadu becomes the first signing of the summer for Leeds, and the first for manager Daniel Farke and the club's new owners since they took over.
Chelsea are understood to have included a sell-on clause in the deal, meaning that they will receive a percentage of the next transfer fee Ampadu commands.
The 44-time Wales international had been on Chelsea's books since joining from Exeter City in 2017, but he made just one Premier League appearance for the club, with that coming in December 2017.
Ampadu was the first player born in the 21st century to play for Chelsea but made just 12 appearances for the senior side overall across all competitions.
Capable of playing in defence or midfield, Ampadu has spent the last four seasons on loan at various clubs, spending time at RB Leipzig, Sheffield United, Venezia and Spezia during that spell.
Next season will be his first taste of Championship football, with Leeds set to begin life back in the second tier at home to Cardiff City on August 6.
Ampadu could make his first appearance for the club when they face Monaco in a pre-season friendly at the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday. body check tags ::
