Leicester City are reportedly preparing to rival Liverpool and Chelsea for the signature of Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka during this summer's transfer window.

The 22-year-old has scored 68 goals and registered 27 assists in 125 appearances for his Austrian club, including 34 goals in 42 outings in all competitions during the 2020-21 campaign.

Liverpool and Chelsea have both been credited with an interest in the Zambia international, who still has three years left to run on his current deal.

However, according to The Mirror, there is also genuine interest from Leicester, who are looking for a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy.

The report claims that the Foxes are in a stronger position to sign Daka than Liverpool and Chelsea, as they would be able to offer a quicker pathway into the first team.

The forward has netted 54 times in 82 league appearances for Salzburg since his arrival.
